Renting a scooter in Canggu: what to know before you ride
Licences, helmets, traffic and picking the right bike.
A scooter is the simplest way to get around Canggu. Distances are short, parking is easy and you skip the traffic on the main roads.
Bring the right licence
Carry an International Driving Permit with a motorcycle category, plus your licence from home. Police checks are common on the roads into Canggu and Seminyak.
Ride safe
Always wear a helmet and keep left. Expect dogs, potholes and sudden U-turns.
Pick the right bike
For short rides, a Scoopy or Vario is plenty. For day trips or riding with a passenger, a maxi scooter like the NMAX or PCX is more comfortable.
